Children in Canada must go to school if they are over six years old. Most children to public schools, not private schools. Public schools and schools (which are Catholic) are free. They are for by taxes.

Classes begin in September and at the end of June. There is a two-week vacation in December and a one-week which is usually in February or March.

There are classes from Monday to Friday for about six a day.
