Children’s Education in Canada Ex. 2

Children in Canada must go to school if they are over six years old. Most children go to public schools, not private schools. Public schools and separate schools (which are Catholic) are free. They are paid for by taxes.

Classes begin in September and finish at the end of June. There is a two-week vacation in December and a one-week vacation which is usually in February or March.

There are classes from Monday to Friday for about six hours a day.
